MOTIVATED BY REAL LIFE ISSUES

Suncoast Computers gives children, parents, students and educators the opportunity to put computer skillsets into useful practice. Together, we’ll work with you, in your home, place of business, classroom or other venues on 2, 4 or 5-day “sprints” to achieve the desired goals relevant to the different groups. We will provide participants with the materials, resources and applications needed to achieve the desired goals; and we will make sure you walk away knowing how to use these on an everyday basis.

EDUCATORS: GETTING STARTED

Designed with parents and educators in mind, this section describes best practices for facilitating sprints no matter your background.

PROJECT SUPPORT

Once the project sprints have begun, Suncoast Computers will provide opportunities for parents, educators and kids to find the appropriate help with or without our guidance!

LEARNING FROM ENGINEERS

Throughout the sprint, parents and educators will be able to connect with our technicians using instant messeging, social media, webinars or Teamviewer.

EDUCATORS: GETTING STARTED

Educators are the lynchpin for Suncoast Computers having a vital influence in the community. Whether you’re a primary school teacher, with years of experience, or a private tutor working in after-school programs on the Sunny Coast, our coaching program is designed to ensure your overall success as a facilitator.

SUPPORTING EDUCATOR SUCCESS

Suncoast Computers endeavours  to equip educators with ample knowledge and tools needed for different age-groups. Some tools are designed to help educate and involve parents with our  “Safety First” programme.

EDUCATOR RESOURCES

EDUCATOR WEBINARS

During Prep Week, Educator Webinars will help to prepare educators to facilitate an SCC sprint. We will address how educators can prepare for their first sprint, as well as outline expectations, opportunities and outcomes of the program.

EDUCATOR SPRINT MANUAL

The Sprint Manual lays out the core elements of an engineering sprint, and how to replicate one in the classroom

EDUCATOR PROJECT GUIDE

Each sprint will include an Educator Project Guide so that educators can facilitate activities in class to support student work.

PROJECT SUPPORT

SCC is committed to seeing both students and educators get the help they need to design an inspiring project. All participants will have access to the private SCC Facebook Group, where our Engineering Webinars will take place. From the start of Prep Week through the end of Sprint Week, the SCC team will be available to help with instructional materials, webinars and online support.

Q&A'S

Need help? Stuck on a lesson? Our Group Q&A Polls are an opportunity for teams to share their questions and up-vote the questions of others to be covered during Engineering Webinars.

STAY INFORMED

Find the latest updates on sprint timelines, submission deadlines and project examples designed to keep you connected during your SCC sprint.

SPRINT SCHEDULE

Our sprint schedule will keep you on-track once the project has officially begun.

Learning From Engineers

A core value of SCC is connection: helping to demystify the world of tech by introducing students to the faces behind it. Facebook engineers come from diverse backgrounds and build our most innovative products, and we open the doors to how they work by facilitating several Engineering Webinars during each project sprint.

PROJECT TIPS & INSPIRATION

Our engineers will share project and personal insights for students to move past any obstacles encountered during each sprint.

CAREER INSIGHT

The pathway for breaking into an engineering career shouldn’t be a mystery. Engineering Webinars will provide opportunities to learn about additional educational and career advancement.
